Dick Aloise was a reserve center for Syracuse basketball for two seasons. Aloise was a large rugged player who was a three year letterman for the Syracuse football team. Aloise was an end on offense, starting his junior and senior years.
Aloise backed Jim Snyder his sophomore season, playing in 13 of the 21 games. He would not play basketball his junior year. He would join the team his senior year, but then resign from the team December 17th in order to focus on his studies.
Aloise was not drafted in the NFL draft, but the Chicago Cardinals signed him to a free agent contract. He however chose to follow a professional career instead.
He would have a career in sales for construction supplies for 20 years. Aloise passed away in 1988.
