The Syracuse Orangemen and the Rider Broncs have played twice. The first game was in 1950 and the Orangemen won 72-54 behind Jack Kiley's 17 points.
The second time was seventy years later in 2020. Syracuse would tie a school record for three point shots made with 15, easily beating Rider 87-52. Allen Griffin and Joe Girad led the way. The Orange played without starters Bourama Sidibe who was injured and Buddy Boeheim who was quarantined for Covid-19 precautions.
Rider University was known as Rider College when Syracuse played them in 1950.
