Comments:
Syracuse would meet Big East rival Providence in the Final Four. The Friars had embraced the three point shot as a primary weapon, and took the shot frequently. However, the Orangemen were prepared for it, and shut the Friars down on the perimeter, while crushing them on the boards.
Syracuse would lead by ten at the half 36-26.
Rick Pitino was the coach for the Friars.
